The cheapest way to increase advertising response…

By John Braun | November 19, 2007

Use pictures.  Effective pictures can triple your response rate.  A
picture tells a thousand words.
On a website, it’s a no brainer.  It doesn’t cost ANYTHING EXTRA to
put full color, HUGE pictures on your site.  You’re not paying for
ink.  You’re not paying for space.  Use pictures everywhere.

Even in newspaper ads, flyers, or any other ad, pictures increase
response.  With these print media, I typically don’t recommend
spending the extra money on color.
Instead, I’d rather put in a small black and white picture and use the money

I would have spent on color for a larger ad.  Put pictures in all your ads.

Pictures draw attention.  If properly used, they can further tell
your story.

Here’s how to take better pictures:

1. Carry a decent (not expensive) digital camera on your truck
2. Take pics of before and after cleaning
3. Take pics of clients
4. Take pics of technicians

Your website should have pictures of your technicians, your shop,
rugs that you have cleaned, rugs hanging on a drying rack, carpet
being cleaned, steps to your cleaning process, pictures of you in
front of a client’s home, pictures of you talking to clients, etc.

These pictures make your company look more credible.  They tell who
you are and what you will do for your prospect.

***Lighting tricks (This works great for videos too):

For better lighting, avoid fluorescent lights.   Sunlight works
best, but watch shadows.  For indoors, use a halogen light.  Just
go get a halogen bulb or light fixture from a hardware store.

If the light is too bright, you can place a thin white sheet in
front of the light to create a filter.  Another  way to avoid
bright halogen is to point the light at a ceiling so the light
isn’t reflected directly on the subject.
