The Appalachian Trail

John under a tarp to escape the snow downpour

Good grief it was cold.  The last day of our hike, it barely got above freezing.  It was snowing all day with no end in sight.  At times, we were walking threw almost 6 inches of snow.

That night it was supposed to get down to 9 degrees.  So we called it quits.  Too cold for this Florida boy.

But it was a great experience.  I’d do it again–even in the snow if properly prepared.

Look at that view

This is the surprise we had when we awoke.
